അബ്നേർ ദാവീദിനോടു: ഞാൻ ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തും; അപ്പോൾ നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവർക്കും രാജാവായിരിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് അബ്നേരിനെ യാത്ര അയച്ചു; അവൻ സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
